Forward chaining

Definition of Forward chaining:

  • In artificial intelligence (AI)systems, forward chaining refers to a scenario where the AI has been provided with a specific problem must "work forwards" to figure out how to solve the set problem. To do this, the AI would look back through the rule-based system to find the "if" rules and determine which rules to use.
