Definition of Synthetic biology:

• Is a multidisciplinary area of research that seeks to create new biological parts, devices, and systems, or to redesign systems that are already found in nature. Synthetic biology is the redesign or re-engineering of organisms and molecules to give them new properties, for example synthetic enzymes capable of digesting plastic.
