Biotechnology

Definition of Biotechnology:

• The exploitation of biological processes for industrial and other purposes, especially the genetic manipulation of microorganisms for the production of antibiotics, hormones, etc.  Biotechnology uses and engineers living organisms and biological matter (genetically or at the molecular level) to develop processes and products for healthcare, pharmaceuticals, materials, fuels and agriculture and food systems.
